Special Message Regarding Goodwill & Haiti Relief Efforts

Goodwill South Florida stands with the people of Haiti and their families. Our hearts are broken at the devastation the earthquake has caused. As with any disaster, the biggest priority is rescue, safety and meeting immediate needs. At this time, the American Red Cross and other organizations are assessing the needs and delivering their services - shelter, food and providing comfort for the victims of disasters. While Goodwill does collect donations for a local mission, there is no infrastructure to transport donations overseas. There is also no system currently in place to distribute the items once onshore.

We know the global community would like to come together to help anyway they can. We ask that you continue to make normal clothing donations to Goodwill. If we receive temporary or permanent families in need, we will find ways to partner with local agencies to help with clothing needs.

Thank you for your willingness to get involved and help. We will keep a watchful eye to see what we can do when we hear from the local authorities on how to best help our fellow Haitians.
